Nuestra Palabra was thrilled to host Luis Jaramillo at their booth at the 2024 Texas Book Festival in Austin. Folks were clamoring for his book. It is a fun read with deep implications. Our staff at El Pasoans said it passed their tests for authenticity. It speaks to the Mexican American experience, but it also has a very wide appeal with its tight prose, fantastic imagery, and great characters. This fictional account dramatizes the trials and tribulations of sisters who grapple with modern as well as time-worn issues. Also, one of the main characters must be covert with her powers, which also seems to allude to how our community must face immigration issues. You will enjoy this read.
