Watch all 3 segments featuring Stalina Villarreal as our Poet of The Week:
Stalina is a powerful example of a Latina who has mastered many disciplines. She is the first person to be both the Nuestra Palabra Poet of the Week and our Visual Artist of the Week. This episode focuses on her book. WATCHA will touch readers' hearts and open minds; it is very authentic to our community, sharing experiences about immigration, family, struggles and challenges that will sound familiar.
However, Stalina also holds a doctorate. This means that she is writing, experimenting, and transforming the highest form of craft. The pieces are also works of art about works of art, and poems are inspired and informed by photographs that shape the book.
This has also led to the exclusive print that Nuestra Palabra commissioned from her to accompany her book. To learn more about the print, tune in to our interview focusing on Stalina as our Visual Artist of The Week. Stalina is a dear friend of Nuestra Palabra. We are so proud to have worked with her when she was thinking about pursuing a master of fine arts in creative writing. We're so happy to work with her now after she's accomplished that and earned her PhD, and we're thrilled to celebrate her first collection of poetry. Support Nuestra Palabra.
