Corazón Sagrado Renacido
Alma Soto
An expressive work of resilience and transformation. Acrylic-painted wood panel relief sculpture featuring a sacred heart of healing, sculpted in traditional Mexican cartonería. It's broken and beautiful exterior tells of empowered scars, wounded wisdom, and courageous tenderness. Within, a heart of gold symbolizes the strength that emerges from struggle. The hummingbird and monarch arise, inviting freedom to embrace both the light and dark of life's journey, that lead to wings of change. Together they embody the healing power of transformation where beauty, strength and growth coexist in the joy and pain of it all. Alma Soto's a Houston-based graphic designer of 19 years and multidisciplinary artist, poet and singer/songwriter, whose worked with variety of clients from KISD, Memorial Hermann, to a recent lotería design launched at MECA with the AARP, and selected as one of this years featured sculpture artists for the MFAH Fall Festival: Myths & Leyendas in collaboration with ALMAAHH.
